This site is in memory of Kay Clay (Katharine Cambell), 1913 - 2007, graduate of Girton College, Cambridge, and modern languages specialist, who taught in Sicily and mainland Italy after the war and became friends with Elio Vittorini and other well-known writers. Later with her husband Richard Clay she taught in Malta, Aden and the UK  and lived in Bow, East London, much loved by family and friends.
